Primary 1–6

Strong foundations for a lifetime of learning.

Primary education develops the essential skills, curiosity and confidence children need to understand the world and take part actively in learning.

The early primary years

Primary 1–3 focus on foundational reading, communication, number skills and positive learning habits. Simple examples, repetition and guided practice help children gain confidence.

The upper primary years

Primary 4–6 build broader subject knowledge, problem-solving and greater responsibility for learning, and prepare children for the move to junior secondary.

How families support progress

Younger learners need a guardian available to help with device use, lesson preparation and a safe learning routine.

  • Prepare a quiet space, charged device and learning materials.
  • Let children attempt tasks independently before offering help.
  • Balance study with movement, rest and play.
  • Review feedback and raise concerns early.
